What is a singing telegram?
A singing telegram is a message delivered in person through live song. Instead of a card or a text, a professional singer turns up — often disguised as a waiter, a courier or an ordinary guest — and performs a song written or chosen for the person receiving it.
The tradition began with Western Union in the 1930s and never really went away. What has changed is the standard: today a good singing telegram is a properly staged, professionally performed piece of live entertainment. That is the part Singergram cares about most.
How Singergram works
- 01Tell us about the moment. Send your date, venue, who the surprise is for and the message you want to land. Sean replies personally.
- 02Choose your singer and songs. Browse singer profiles, listen to recordings and watch performances. We will suggest songs if you are unsure.
- 03We deal with the venue. We contact the restaurant, hotel or office ourselves and agree access and timing so the surprise holds.
- 04The performance. The singer arrives early, sets up discreetly with professional sound where needed, waits for your cue, and performs.

Personalised songs and messages
Personalisation is what separates a personalised singing telegram from a busker in a restaurant. Lyrics can be adapted to include names, in-jokes, places and milestones. You can request a specific song, hand the choice to the singer, or combine a familiar track with a rewritten verse that only your family will understand.
Anything adapted is agreed with you in advance, so there are no surprises for you — only for the person it is meant for.

Where we perform
We deliver singing telegrams across the UK: restaurants, pubs, hotels, offices, private homes, wedding venues, conference centres, care homes, parks and open-air locations. If you are in London, we cover every borough; elsewhere, travel is simply factored into your quote.
How to book
Send an enquiry through the contact form or message the team directly on WhatsApp. Tell us the date, the location, roughly what time and who the surprise is for. You will receive a tailored quote — there is no standard price list, because there is no standard Singergram.
Once you are happy, we confirm the booking in writing, agree the songs and the timing, and contact the venue on your behalf. Our terms and conditions set out exactly what is included.
What happens on the day
The singer arrives ahead of the agreed time and checks in with you or your contact at the venue. Equipment is set up out of sight where possible. Then everyone waits for the cue.
The performance itself usually runs 15 to 20 minutes. Afterwards the singer will stay for photographs and, if it suits the moment, one more song. Then they leave and you get your evening back — with a story attached.
