It is a quieter kind of surprise than a birthday. There is no punchline. There is a first line, a look between two people, and usually a hand reaching for another hand.

Before anything is confirmed, Sean will ask about the two of you: how long it has been, where you met, the song that matters and anything you would like said between the verses. Names, places and shared history can be written into the performance so it could not possibly belong to anyone else.

We agree the timing with you and, where appropriate, directly with the restaurant or hotel — so the staff are prepared and nobody lets it slip. The singer arrives early, sets up out of sight, and waits for your signal.

Where do anniversary performances usually take place?

Most often in restaurants and hotels, and frequently at home. We speak to the venue in advance so the surprise is agreed without spoiling it, and we work quietly around the service so the room is with you rather than interrupted.
Can the performance be for a parents' or grandparents' anniversary?

Very often it is. Golden and diamond anniversaries organised by children and grandchildren are among the most moving performances we deliver, and the song usually comes from the year they married.
How far in advance should we book an anniversary singer?

Several weeks is comfortable, particularly for a weekend evening. Shorter notice is often possible, so it is always worth asking.
